Warranty Exclusions & Limitations
Goldco® Security acknowledges that the goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). The customer is entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, or to have the screens repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in this warranty purports to have or has the effect on excluding, limiting or modifying any rights, entitlements or remedies that may be conferred on a customer under the ACL or the relevant Sale of Goods Act in the State or Territory where the product is located, to the extent that those rights, entitlements or remedies cannot be excluded or modified by agreement.
Warranty Exclusions
Subject to the customer’s consumer rights under the ACL, this warranty DOES NOT apply to:
- Events outside of control such as fire, acts of God, floods, motor vehicle accidents, natural disasters, etc.
- Installation and/or repaired and/or service of the screen/s by a person who is not from Goldco® Security
- Intentional screen damage
- Screen disassembly
- Screen alteration
- Failure to upkeep screen maintenance as per our Care and Maintenance guide
- Improper use of the screen
- Defects that occur outside the warranty period
- Normal wear and tear of the screen and its components
- Damaged caused by pets
Product care
As with any other valuable product, proper and adequate maintenance of your screens must occur to keep them performing at their best; proper care is essential. Please follow the specific cleaning advice set out in our Care and Maintenance Guide page to ensure your screens product warranty remains valid.
Warranty Limitations
Subject to the customer’s consumer rights under the ACL:
- Under this warranty, neither party is liable in any way for any indirect or consequential loss (including loss of profit, revenue, reputation or opportunity), in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise arising in connection with the Goldco® Security products supplied.
- This warranty applies to the exclusion of any term, condition, warranty, representation or covenant of any kind with respect to the Goldco product (or any part thereof) including its value, quality, durability, condition, design, operation, description, merchantability, performance or fitness for use or purpose.
How will the warranty be honoured
Subject to the customer’s consumer rights under the ACL, if the Goldco® product fails to function in the way it has been described to function, during the Warranty Period, under this warranty, Goldco® has the option to:
- Replace or repair the Goldco® screens.
- Replace or repair the faulty components or parts of the Goldco® screens.
Warranty Period and Claims
Warranty period
- Irrespective of the screen type, all locks, rollers, door closers and pet doors that are fitted on any Goldco screens, the Warranty Period is 1 year commencing from the date of installation by Goldco Security Group Pty Ltd
- For flyscreen mesh types used in Diamond Grille and flyscreen products, the Warranty period is 1 year commencing from the date of installation by Goldco or from the date purchased loose.
- For Amplimesh® Supascreen®, the Warranty Period is 16 years, commencing from the date of installation by Goldco Security Group Pty Ltd. This excludes item 1. For more detail, please see
- For Amplimesh® Intrudaguard®, the Warranty Period is 10 years commencing from the date of installation by Goldco Security Group Pty Ltd. This excludes item 1
- For Amplimesh® PrivacyGuard®, the Warranty Period is 7 years commencing from the date of installation by Goldco Security Group Pty Ltd. This excludes item 1
- For Diamond Grille, the Warranty Period is 7 years commencing from the date of installation by Goldco Security Group Pty Ltd. This excludes items 1 and 2
- For flyscreen products, the Warranty Period is 1 year commencing from the date of installation by Goldco Security Group Pty Ltd. This excludes items 1 and 2
- The goods supplied are guaranteed against mechanical default during normal domestic use and Goldco® Security will repair or replace at its discretion such components which have proven faulty in operation. Not covered by this warranty is damage caused by accidents, wear and tear or misuse. In the event of a request being made for a service call not covered by warranty, a minimum call-out fee will be charged
- Where a screen has been repaired or replaced, the Warranty Period will apply to the repaired or replaced screen for the balance of the unexpired Warranty Period.
Making a claim
To make a warranty claim, the original purchaser of the screens must make initial contact with Goldco® and provide the original invoice and warranty confirmation. Claims must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the issue being identified. Goldco® will inspect the screens (during normal business hours) to determine the nature and cause of the defect. If Goldco® determines that there is a valid claim, the cost to repair or replace the defective product with the same or similar product to the one originally supplied will be borne by Goldco® if the screen has been maintained as per the Care and Maintenance Guide. If Goldco® determines that the claim is not valid, it may recover any costs related to such a warranty claim from the purchaser.
